The language finally clicked.

This week something shifted. I was teaching a lesson and realized I was thinking in Portuguese — not translating, just speaking. Elder Santos noticed it too. We were sitting with a family from Bahia and everything just flowed. I can't really explain it except that it felt like a gift.

Week 14 · São Paulo NorteApril 21, 2026

Transfers came. I'm staying.

Got the call Sunday night — I'm staying in Norte for another transfer with Elder Santos. Honestly relieved. We've been building up something real here and I don't want to leave it half-finished. The Pereira family is getting baptized next month. That alone makes it worth it.

Week 8 · São Paulo NorteMarch 10, 2026

First week done. Still alive.

I don't know how to describe Brazil yet except loud, beautiful, and fast. My Portuguese is embarrassing but people have been so patient. We knocked 200 doors this week. 6 people let us in. 1 was genuinely interested. I think that counts as a win.

Where do you think you'll be called?

I have absolutely no idea, but I've always felt drawn to Latin America. Something about the language, the culture, the warmth. If I could choose, somewhere Spanish-speaking. But I'll go wherever.

What kind of missionary do you want to be?

The kind people remember for how they made them feel, not how much I knew. I want to actually listen. I want to care about people as individuals, not as statistics.

What do you hope to come home knowing?
